**Make a Difference**

The Childbirth (prenatal) Educator RN provides learning experiences to help childbearing families identify their own beliefs about childbirth and parenting and blend them into the Community Health Network. If bilingual in Spanish and English, the Childbirth Educator will utilize this bilingual skill as needed. The Childbirth (prenatal) Educator RN will teach at Community North Hospital.

**Exceptional Skills and Qualifications**

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) (Required)

Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Indiana (Required)

Previous experience in maternal child nursing. (Required)

Certification or experience as a childbirth (prenatal) educator preferred.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing to a wide range of expectant parents and staff, assess the learning needs of a particular group or person.

Adapt the learning experience to the age and ability of the group or person.

Broad knowledge base of the emotional, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of the childbearing family from early pregnancy though early parenting.
