Position Summary:

The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University is dedicated to providing exceptional medical education and fostering the development of future physicians and healthcare leaders. Our Year 3 and Year 4 clinical curriculum provides clinical training across multiple specialties and prepares medical students for future residency training.

The Office of Medical Education is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Clinical Education. This administrative position plays a crucial role in managing clinical schedules, cultivating relationships with community hospitals, and overseeing budgetary matters within the clinical curriculum.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage clinical schedules for medical students, ensuring compliance with program requirements and accreditation standards.

Collaborate with clinical faculty and staff to optimize clinical rotations and placements, considering student preferences and learning objectives.

Develop and maintain strong partnerships with affiliated community hospitals and healthcare institutions.

Serve as the primary liaison between the College of Medicine and external clinical sites, fostering positive relationships and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.

Assist in developing and monitoring departmental budgets related to clinical education initiatives.

Work closely with senior leadership to allocate resources efficiently, identifying cost savings and revenue generation opportunities.

Serve as the administrative supervisor for Office of Medical Education staff as applicable.

Ensure compliance with relevant accreditation standards and regulations governing clinical education programs.

Participate in accreditation processes and quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of clinical education efforts.

Collaborate with the Office of Program Evaluation and Assessment team to support collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to clinical education activities, including student performance evaluations and program outcomes.

Utilize data insights to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement within the clinical education curriculum.

Serve as a proctor for exams across the undergraduate medical education curriculum.

Support administrative operations in other areas of the curriculum as needed.

Attend and support the College of Medicine and medical education special events as needed.

Complete special projects and/or other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.

Three years of senior management experience.

Salary:

$65,000 - $70,000 per year.

This position eligible for flex scheduling under the discretion of the supervisor.
