The Nursing Discipline at Delta College is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member committed to equity, retention, and completion for student success. The instructor will be responsible for effective teaching in the face-to-face, blended, and online classroom. Potential candidates will have the ability to teach online as well as face-to-face and blended/hybrid courses during the evening, at multiple locations (Downtown Centers, Dual Enrollment Partners), and nontraditional times as needed. In addition, we seek candidates whose pedagogy, research, and continuous professional development have prepared them to engage with the college's commitment to belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BEDI).
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of belonging, diversity, equity and inclusionin students, faculty, and staff.
- Must have the ability to teach in both a classroom and clinical setting and be particularly adept in the area of Med-Surg Nursing.
- The ability to work in a variety of settings and promote student growth and success is essential.
- Ability to relate to a variety of constituents along with solid pedagogy skills that promote learning.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Delta College.
- Demonstrate a philosophy of teaching that provides learning opportunities that meet the needs of all students.
- Establish and promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment to maximize student learning in both the face-to-face and online classroom.

- Capable of using a learning management system to deliver course material.
- Demonstrate teaching effectiveness which supports student learning and encompasses pedagogies for student success to meet course and/or program requirements.
- Work in a variety of settings which promote quality learning.
- Maintain professional development to assure currency within field of practice.
- Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and spring/summer.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
- Current or obtainable Michigan License.
- Minimum of two years full-time equivalency clinical experience (4000 hours) as a Registered Nurse.
- Clinical experience in the acute care hospital setting specifically in the area of Med-Surg Nursing.
- Current or obtainable BLS Certification.
- One Year of college level didactic and/or clinical teaching.
- Available to teach evenings and weekends.
- Pedagogy is informed by belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Bilingual.
- Ability to teach across disciplines.
