• Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical / Telemetry
• Start: 11/4 or 11/18- Bi-weekly orientation
• Neuro Cardiac Unit MS/Tele RN - Nights - Deaconess Gateway **AUTO OFFER**
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
• Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7
• Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Tele/Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
• Patient Population: Complex Med/Surg/Tele patients. Post cardiac caths with interventions, CVA/TIA, ICD. Complex abdominal surgeries (open bellies/colons), oncology, cranis POD 2.
• Skillset: REQUIRED: NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong neuro assessement skills. Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), Intitate/titrate drips (Insulin, cardiac, Heparin, etc.), heart cath recovery (fem. & TR bands). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!
• PREFERRED: NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, Tikosyn doing, chest tubes.
• Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates

Schedule Information
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request)
• Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Unit Specific Information
• Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs
• Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to change
• Unit Information: 32 beds. Ratio: Days 1:4-5/6 (six is very rare); NOCs 1:6-7; CN takes assignment on all shifts.
• Unit Strengths: Welcoming and fun staff, proactive charge nurses, knowledgeable and helpful clerical support.

Additional Details
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• NO LOCAL CANDIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
• Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY – 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
• On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A
