Staff Pharmacist - Per Diem

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Staff Pharmacist at Memorial Hospital of Gardena, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. This position may work at both Memorial Hospital of Gardena and Coast Plaza Hospital.
Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position does not have regularly scheduled hours and provides time off coverage for a few shifts each month during days, evenings and weekends.
Starting Pay: $60-$70/hour (based on related work experience)
About the Facility: Founded in 1953, Memorial Hospital of Gardena provides full-service healthcare to the Gardena community. With 173 licensed beds, 103 acute beds, and 69 sub-acute beds, the hospital admits 7,400 patients and treats more than 30,000 outpatients per year as part of its full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. Memorial Hospital of Gardena is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and a licensed provider for Medicare and Medi-Cal, along with many HMO's, PPO's, and managed care organizations. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.
About the Pharmacy: The centralized pharmacy is open 24/7 and supported by AllScripts and Pyxis. There are 8 full time pharmacists and 9 full time pharmacy technicians.
Required Qualifications:
- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
- Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program strongly preferred
- Experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital setting preferred
- Experience working with Antibiotic Stewardship program preferred
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
- Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
- Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
Hospital Requirements (may be required):
- (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
- (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
- Hep B3 Series (or declination)
- (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th
- COVID Vaccine-Full
