Pharmacy Intern - Per Diem 
Community Hospital of Huntington Park
Los Angeles, CA

As a per diem, nonexempt CPS Solutions, LLC Pharmacy Intern at the Community Hospital of Huntington Park, you will provide Pharmacy Intern support and may also assist from time to time at a sister hospital, East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital (ELADH) in Los Angeles. You will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to perform a variety of technician duties while in training to become proficient in general pharmacy practices, procedures, and etiquette. You will perform drug inventory and delivery services, as directed. 

Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt Pharmacy Intern will provide coverage a least 4 hours/month up to 19 hours/week to cover staff PTO or as needed. This position may also work at East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital covering shifts on an as-needed basis.

Pay Range: $20-$21/hour based on experience. 

About the Facility: Community Hospital of Huntington Park is an 81-bed acute care hospital which has been providing high quality medical services to the City of Huntington Park and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles County for over 50 years. Community Hospital of Huntington Park is fully accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program and is a licensed provider for Medicare and Medi-Cal, along with many HMO's, PPOs, and managed care organizations. They offer a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services designed to meet the needs of our patients. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC. 

About the Pharmacy: Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30am-6:00pm and weekends 7:30am-4:00pm. This centralized pharmacy utilizes MedSelect automation and the Paragon pharmacy system. 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
  • California Pharmacy Intern license in good standing
  • Experience working in a hospital or retail setting preferred but not required
  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communications skills; verbal and written

Hospital Requirements (may be required):   

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months  
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity  
  • Tdap or declination  
  • HepB or declination  
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity  
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th  
  • Respirator FIT Mask Test  
  • Physical examination by the hospital
  • Covid Vaccine-Full
