Lead Pharmacist
Mercy Hospital

CPS Solutions is seeking highly motivated and customer service-oriented pharmacy professionals who want to elevate their career to the next level. We are currently conducting a search for a full time, Lead Pharmacist. This role has been created to allow for development opportunities for our existing onsite pharmacists while providing additional structural support to site leaders as work volume and workforce size expand at our customer sites.  In addition to the job duties of an onsite pharmacist, the lead pharmacist will work in partnership with site leader(s) in assisting with operational oversight as well as people management at their respective customer site. 

The lead pharmacist will help in positioning onsite pharmacists for success by providing them with day-to-day leadership support with regards to staffing, resources, general inquiries, and ultimately allowing us to deliver on KPIs for our customers.  This role will require frequent and effective collaboration with clinical operations managers, general managers, site-level certified trainers, and other lead pharmacists within the site and/or the CPS wide organization.  The individual must be an existing onsite pharmacist for CPS with demonstrated aptitude necessary to effectively lead their peers.

This role may serve as a prerequisite for future growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a first point of contact as a routine inquiry from onsite pharmacists such as PTO, scheduling, SOP, and additional policies and procedures and escalate to site leaders as necessary
  • Manage Paid Time Off, scheduling, and central support/AT coverage recommendations to site leadership
  • Partner with COM/GM and participate in interviewing process as part of hiring pharmacists and liaisons
  • Participate and lead daily meetings with the COM/GM
  • Experiential education management - schedule, orientation, badging, etc.
  • Talk Desk weekly metric and employee functionality oversight
  • Incremental LDD reporting compliance
  • Team event organization
  • Health system onboarding management to assist site level trainer
  • Service group reporting to COM for any special initiatives current or planned
  • Arbor/ERx queue management to streamline
  • HIPAA event documentation - CPS and Health system
  • Lead development and complications of site and company level SOPs
  • Inspire site leaders and peers to provide best-in-class service to their customers and patients through highly efficient service and quality of care
  • Work closely with other site-level leads and clinical operations managers (COM) to support day-to-day activities
  • Additional activities necessary to support the needs of the business and optimize efficiency at the site level

     Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or Board Certification (e.g., PharmD, M.S., Board Certification in a subspecialty) 
  • Preferred 9-12 months of experience at CPS. Must have a minimum of “Meets Expectations” on most recent performance evaluation.

Education and/or Experience:

  •         Licensed pharmacist in the state of the site in which the pharmacist is supporting.
  •         Experience working with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals (preferably in a medical clinic).
  •         Knowledge of benefits investigation, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance work. Strong people skills and the ability to work with teams across customers.
  •         Proficiency in standard workplace software (e.g., MS Office) and dispensing systems (e.g., QS1, RX30, or Computer Rx); experience with EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, or Meditech) is preferred.
  •         The ability to start from scratch, execute quickly and accurately without pre-defined processes and protocols, and an interest in defining such processes for the future.

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1  st  -April 30  th  
  • COVID Vaccine
