The Team Lead, Turf, and Snow Operations, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team responsible for maintaining the City of Edmonton's parks and green spaces during the summer months and ensuring clear and safe pathways during the winter. This includes tasks such as mowing, fertilizing, and watering lawns, as well as removing snow and ice from pathways. The Team Lead will also be responsible for managing resources, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and providing excellent customer service.
What will you do?
- Plan and implement the Turf Open Space Operations or Snow and Ice Active Pathway Snow Removal work plan maintenance for the district
- Set weekly, and daily priorities, and implement work plans according to approved work standards and schedules
- Assign tasks to crew leaders according to areas of responsibility within the district or yard
- Oversee the work of the crew leaders and set performance expectations for the completion of tasks
- Provide technical expertise and project work to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance service level in compliance with the City of Edmonton requirements and standards
- Ability to project staffing and equipment required and plan for upcoming maintenance issues that may arise
- Order supplies and materials
- Monitor and record various data on productivity, route adjustment, and deployment of your workforce
- Review notifications throughout the day; update and inspect possible work areas as required
- Assign work crews through basic established work plans, and in emergent situations where and if necessary
- Assist the Supervisor with budget planning for the district, including analyzing, interpreting, and developing financial reports
- Oversee the training, scheduling, and deployment of personnel to accomplish the work in compliance with OH&S Alberta and City Tasks Standards Operations procedures
- Render professional advice, opinions, assistance, and services to your direct supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
