Are you a passionate and influential leader with a drive for sustainability?   The City of Edmonton is seeking a dynamic Sustainable Procurement Lead to champion innovative solutions and drive positive change. In this role, you will be a key player in shaping the City's sustainable procurement policy and practices, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to minimize environmental impact and maximize social benefit.   As a strategic thinker and change agent, you will develop and implement actionable plans, policies, and frameworks, ensuring alignment with the City's broader sustainability goals.   • Develop and recommend strategic direction and tactical plans for the implementation of the City's Sustainable Procurement Policy, ensuring integration with organizational goals and priorities;
  • Enhance the City's policy implementation through identification, execution and operationalization of recommended activities which meet strategic objectives to leverage City purchases to achieve positive Indigenous, social and environmental benefits for the community;
  • Create action plans with clear deliverables for short and long-term;
  • Successfully implement plans, metrics, and reporting mechanisms, following direction from CPSS Branch Leadership team and City Council;
  • Exercise influence to ensure suppliers, community and industry organizations, and the City's internal stakeholders understand the purpose and principles of the Sustainability program;
  • Develop and implement tools, guidelines and processes related to Social Procurement, Indigenous Procurement, Environmental Sustainability; and Ethical Standards;
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of sustainable processes within CPSS and lead initiatives on behalf of CPSS;
  • Develop and implement procedures within different business units and the CPSS branch to ensure compliance to policy and related reporting requirements;
  • Other related responsibilities
