The Real Estate branch combines real estate and land development expertise to create synergies across a diverse portfolio: we own, lease, maintain and operate the City's inventory of real property (land, buildings and facilities). Our branch provides expert real estate services to the corporation and integrates multiple interests so that Council can achieve its vision.
The Land Development section functions as a land developer on behalf of the City of Edmonton by making investments into enterprise and surplus City owned land that is not required for municipal purposes to increase its financial and social value, before sale. To complete this work, we carry out the full range of land development activities from due diligence and planning to construction. Our team manages a diverse portfolio that includes greenfield residential, mixed-use, commercial and industrial land; surplus land; surplus school sites and many more. We also provide expert land development support, advice and recommendations to areas throughout the corporation.
Reporting to the General Supervisor, Land Development Delivery, this position will perform complex administrative and technical work which involves coordination, administration and project management for land development projects to support the redevelopment of City enterprise and surplus lands.

What will you do?
- Manage and administer projects by ensuring adherence to scope, preparing reports and estimates required for project tracking and approval of budgets, and ensuring adherence to schedule
- Review the work of consultants & contractors, preparing contract documents, and managing all stages of the project
- Prepare project plans and estimate resources and risks associated with projects
- Coordinate the procurement process by preparing terms of reference, inviting for proposals, evaluating proposals and recommending consultants for Professional Services Agreements and preparing tender and contract documents
- Provide updates and reports on project budget, health, status, and schedule to leadership and other stakeholders, as required
- Coordinate and direct the work of consultants and contractors by conducting site meetings, inspecting construction and addressing issues with the project engineer
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, citizens, different departments, utility companies and other stakeholders in resolving issues with a solutions focused, collaborative approach while minimizing delays to projects
- Issue site instructions and change orders; assess value of work completed and process progress claims. Maintain accurate records and files and prepare reports
