THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
Flexibility is a must.
Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).
COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.

Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.

UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2

Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday
May have 1 holiday off in an assignment
No additional call/standby shifts required. However, may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs
Min EOW (could work up to 3 wknds/mo), first to float

Floating to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed
Navy is the scrub color/dress code
Charge Nurse present, does not take patients
No nurse aids on unit, only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretary
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7
RT in ICU 24/7
No monitor techs on unit, RN required to interpret own strip. GE monitors used.
Will validate skills for trauma, neuro and specialty devices as needed.

Sister units are a medical/cardiac 36 bed ICU & 12 bed overflow ICU.
Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
Okay with first-time traveler, however must have 3 years experience (with 2 of those years in the ICU).
Level 1 experience or neuro experience not required but preferred.
Prefer prior experience work at a similar size unit ICU.
