Good Samaritan University Hospital is a 537-bed teaching hospital and a member of Catholic Health. Located approximately 40 miles from the heart of New York City, in West Islip, Long Island New York. St Charles Hospital located in Port Jefferson, Long Island New York. Both hospitals are surrounded by a rich culture and history offering a diverse palette of attractions and points of interests. Good Samaritan University Hospital has nearly 900 physicians on staff, and a level 2 pediatric trauma center cares for nearly 950,000 patients annually across the south shore of Long Island. We offer Suffolk County's only free standing Center for Pediatric Specialty Care with satellite centers open in Nassau County and additional expansion planned. Catholic Health's children's program provide services for the smallest patients through our Level III Neonatology Unit through adulthood. The dedicated support by the pediatric therapists supports the pediatric patients with the highest quality of care including, physical, occupational, feeding and swallow as well as an early intervention program. The ongoing dedication to pediatrics supports a well-rounded department with specialists throughout all fields of pediatric medicine, a separate and designated Pediatric Emergency Department staffed 24/7 by physicians specially trained in pediatric emergency medicine and a pediatric residency and fellowship.
In addition, Catholic Health supports two ACGME accredited Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency programs for which St Charles Hospital acts as a primary training site for one. St Charles with its extensive experience and expertise in Rehabilitation medicine supports both adult and pediatric sub-acute and long term rehabilitative needs with physical therapists, occupational therapists, etc. supporting the pediatric patient.
Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and managing infants, children and adolescents with a variety of rehabilitative needs
- Supervising, overseeing and teaching medical students, interns, and residents rotating through the department and division.
- Maintaining high standards and quality of care to the patients cared for
- Promoting high quality, cost effective care based on the best medical evidence
- Participating in data collection to assess patient care and satisfaction studies
- Making best efforts to keep current with developments in pediatrics, medical management and related areas through CME programs, medical literature review and medical staff conferences
Applicant must be board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and board certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. NYS License required.
Salary Range: $259,254-$315,218
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
