Inpatient Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner
Location: Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville, VA
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Memorial Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our established inpatient orthopedic surgery program. As we expand our services in the Mechanicsville area, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and contribute to the success of our orthopedic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct assessment, management, and coordination of care for patients in both routine and emergent situations.
- Daily Rounds: Collaborate with physicians to review patient progress, addressing any concerns according to clinical pathways and best practices.
- Care Coordination: Act as a liaison among consulting physicians, nurses, and ancillary services, independently ordering necessary services.
- Discharge Planning: Work with Care Managers to ensure smooth transitions of care, including writing prescriptions, conducting medication reconciliations, and arranging home health services as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and medical management.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage with an interdisciplinary team to enhance the quality of care through evaluation, planning, and delivery of comprehensive services.
- Patient Advocacy: Uphold the dignity and respect of all patients, families, and staff, reinforcing our commitment to providing quality healthcare in a supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current NP license in Virginia.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
