Position Summary  

The Health Sciences, Education and Wellness Institute (HSEWI) division is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time tenure track faculty member for Fall 2025 in the Nuclear Medicine department. The Nuclear Medicine faculty will perform duties and functions under the general direction of the Provost and shall be responsible primarily to the Dean of the Health Sciences, Education and Wellness Institute.

The primary program role filled by this faculty position is as primary instructor for a number of the didactic courses in the nuclear medicine curriculum.  Responsibilities associated with the faculty position include assessing student learning outcomes; establishing and evaluating outcomes; advising students; maintaining current knowledge and skills in area of assignment; building collaborative relationships with clinical sites, the BC community and the community at large; and demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and fostering a positive, caring learning environment where diversity and pluralism is valued.

This position may include program chair responsibilities.

This faculty position includes a joint appointment with the Radiation and Imaging Sciences (RAIS) bachelor¿s degree program, with approximately 25% of the full-time workload in RAIS.  Depending on the expertise of the new NMTEC faculty member, the specific teaching assignments could change.
The successful candidate must reside in Washington State by the start of the position and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in person. This includes teaching on the Bellevue College campus and participating in non-teaching duties such as committee service, advising, and professional development activities. While there may be opportunities to teach online or hybrid courses, faculty are expected to maintain a significant presence on campus to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the college community.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule  

Position Salary Range: $81,757.08/year - $114,664.94/year

Annual salary is based on a 176-day contract with a minimum of $81,757.08; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate's education and related experience. New hires start no higher than $87,663.74 unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment. All additional compensations are subject to change depending on funding and negotiated agreement.

About the Department  

The Health Sciences, Education & Wellness Institute (HSEWI) fosters successful completion of our diverse students' education goals, as well as advocates life-long wellness, learning, teaching, and service excellence. We provide a wide variety of accessible, rigorous, and engaging professional/technical courses, programs, and credentials that are responsive to individual, institutional, and community needs, prospects, and opportunities. Our Institute is comprised of sixteen unique programs which focus on providing excellent education and training for many professions in healthcare, education, and wellness.
 

Essential Functions  

Teaching duties include:

• Teach courses as assigned by the program chair, utilizing a variety of teaching and learning strategies and innovative techniques including the integration of technology and the latest research to assist students in the achievement of learning outcomes and assessment of learning.
• Promote teaching and learning in nuclear medicine in the classroom setting.
• Assess student learning in the classroom and clinical settings and provide students with timely written and verbal feedback.
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of didactic and clinical courses relative to stated course outcomes.
• Serve as primary instructor for the radio pharmacy lab rotation of NMTEC 234.
• Participate in curriculum revisions with the integration of the latest research aimed at continuous improvement and new course development.

Non-teaching duties include:

• Provide leadership for and work with the program¿s advisory board to engage in environmental scanning to update and revise curriculum, reflecting current needs in nuclear medicine technology education and needs of the community for health care in radiation and imaging sciences.
• Participate in professional development activities related to teaching and learning theory, education in nuclear medicine technology and advances in nuclear medicine.
• Maintain professional-technical and nuclear medicine certification.
• Actively support student success and college pluralism/diversity goals/initiatives and activities and integrate activities into the life and work of the nuclear medicine program and the radiation and imagining sciences department.

Minimum Qualifications  

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Certified nuclear medicine technologist with active credential.
• Professional experience in nuclear medicine.

Preferred Qualifications  

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Credentialed in computed tomography (ARRT or NMTCB).
• Significant professional experience in nuclear medicine.
• Leadership or classroom teaching experience.
• Ability to teach courses beyond nuclear medicine (e.g., Radiation and Imaging Sciences).
