Description

The Ultrasonographer is responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations for diagnostic purposes. This role involves patient interaction, the operation of ultrasound equipment, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and accurate imaging results.

• Patient Care: Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Imaging Techniques: Utilize ultrasound equipment to obtain high-resolution images of various body structures, including abdominal organs, vascular systems, and obstetric conditions.
• Image Analysis: Assess and analyze images for quality and completeness, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of examinations performed, including patient history, technical findings, and preliminary interpretations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operational; report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
• Patient Education: Educate patients about the ultrasound procedure, including preparation requirements and what to expect during the exam.
• Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, infection control measures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure patient and staff safety.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 years Ultrasonography experience required

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in health related field preferred.
Completion of Ultrasound program required.

SPECIAL SKILL, LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or CCI Certification required.
