Delivery Scheduler

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Job Summary

Schedules all deliveries and customer pick-ups using the Bassett's operating systems. Communicates with customer in advance of delivery to ensure proper and efficient in-home delivery and set up. Communicates with the Delivery Driver/Helper on a daily basis.  Provides administrative support for the warehouse.

Supervision Received

Direct reporting to and supervision from the Warehouse Manager and/or the Assistant Warehouse Manager.

Supervision Given

None.

Essential Functions

  • Answering incoming calls and schedule deliveries and customer pick ups, as needed;
  • Scheduling deliveries using the Logistical Scheduling Screen;
  • Maintain acceptable delivery volumes to promote efficiency and profitability;
  • Prints sales orders for customer pick ups;
  • May complete delivery and customer pick up tickets at the end of the day;
  • Process paperwork and perform additional administrative duties for the warehouse manager;
  • Responsible for the ongoing organization and cleanliness of the work area;
  • Reviews the Dispatch Track Web Portal to insure that time frames are being met;
  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Education/Experience/Abilities/Skills

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency certificate;
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills;
  • Commitment to Bassett's “Vision and Values” at all times
  • Ability to:
  • Work in an organized and safety conscious manner
  • Work as a team with an enthusiastic attitude
  • Effectively communicate with customer, co-workers, and management
  • Read, understand and write the English language;
  • Assist objectively with problems involving various customer service situations
  • Overcome customer objections to the scheduling calendar to maximize efficiency and volume;
  • Work with customer to negotiate schedules;
  • Effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Learn and operate the Bassett's operating systems;
  • Lift and or move up to 25 pounds;
  • Walk, stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, use and/or control tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear, and see up close, in color, depth and distance vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
