Banner Scottsdale Sports Medicine, a three-story, 80,000-square-foot center, will welcome and serve athletes at all levels, from youth to professionals. Our comprehensive, one-stop destination will be offering numerous sports medicine services and specialists under one roof, with internationally and nationally renowned sports medicine providers and leaders. Services will include orthopedic surgery, primary care sports medicine, concussion care, ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy, medical imaging, performance assessment and training, strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, and sports psychology.

As a BSS Ortho Tech on this team, you would be expected to help fill in for our current ortho techs for PTO, sick time, added coverage within a busy clinic, plus added support to the current team. We are Affiliated with the Mercury, Suns, DBacks teams. Banner Sports Medicine works together with a team approach. This position would allow the ortho tech the opportunity to collaborate with the ortho techs and Athletic Trainers at each site. Our facilities are targeted towards treating every athlete as a VIP regardless of the level and each team member serves as a part of that patient journey through the clinic.
Must be available to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5:00pm, ideally 5 days/week. We will accept individuals that can be available part time: preferably whole days, but can work with half day shifts as well. Half day would be 8-12 or 1-5. Required: ROT certification, BLS, and AZ fingerprint clearance card

Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting providers in the delivery of orthopedic care, including applying casts to patients. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care. Duties are performed as delegated by a physician under the physician's direction and supervision.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Applies, adjusts and removes casts, splints, and immobilization devices. Changes dressings and cares for wounds. Measures and fits patients for braces and other orthopedic devices.
2. Communicates instructions to patients regarding pre- and post-operative care, proper care of casts, splints, immobilization devices and crutch training.
3. Documents information into the patient records system accurately and completely. Obtains all necessary signatures and documentation. Provides administrative support in orthopedic department when needed.
4. Orders, tracks and maintains product inventory. Replenishes and disperses supplies within the exam rooms to ensure all rooms are appropriately stocked and readily accessible.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
6. This position functions under supervision and is responsible for all aspects of the patient experience. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients/clients, families and external contacts, such as vendors and employees of other health care institutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Certification from the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) is required. On a case-by-case basis, candidates who are not currently certified by ASOP may be considered for this role. Uncertified candidates are required to obtain an ROT Certification within six months from their date of hire.
