As our Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiovascular Tech RCIS, you will learn from very experienced, advanced registry certified SPT's as well as a Team of physicians who will rely on you to add to their procedure with your knowledge and skills. Our Cardiovascular Technicians will scrub and assist with Interventional procedures. Our procedures encompass Cardiac catheterization and multi Interventions, Device Implants, Electrophysiology, Watchman and Cardiomems. We also send a team to work in the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program to assist in the Hybrid Surgical Suite. 4 10-hour shifts from 7am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday with night, weekend and holiday call; call will start after training; 30 min call back time required

Enjoy an 18%-night shift differential and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential when applicable.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position, under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures on patients. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide optimal care\treatment to patient population.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Under the direction of a qualified physician assists in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures to treat heart disease in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Performs/reviews a baseline patient evaluation as defined by scope of practice and facility. Evaluates patients' response to diagnosis, interventional maneuvers and medications during procedures.

2. Operates all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for procedures efficiently. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance in area of operation. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to all safety policies.

3. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and techniques, i.e. knowledge of normal and abnormal ECG rhythms and/or lead changes, various hemodynamic values, normal and abnormal pressures, ST elevation/depression. Monitors and records ECG and pressure waves during the procedures. Provides other aspects of patient care as needed.

4. Demonstrates the principles of aseptic and sterile techniques as well as universal precautions throughout the procedure. Disposes of sharps and trash and places used supplies into case cart for processing. Prepares instruments for cleaning following each case.

5. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to the scope of practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.

6. This position works under the direction of a physician. Internal customers: Physicians, all levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Completion of a Cardiovascular Invasive program or equivalent experience. BLS required. ACLS may be required depending on assignment.

Must have successfully passed the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exams. May require national certification, American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, and licensure by state regulatory agency if applicable.

This position requires extensive clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2+ years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab in a hospital setting or meeting the requirements of certification board. The position requires the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. The position requires the ability to be conscientious, organized, and orderly and the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the health care staff and patient.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
