The Department of Economic Security, Office of Inspector General (OIG) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an AUDITOR 2. The Auditor 2 position is responsible to conduct compliance audits for the child support program. This includes researching federal requirements regarding management of child support cases, preparing audit work papers, conducting fieldwork, and identifying findings and recommendations. Prepare detailed audit reports of audit findings for internal and external distribution. This position accesses federal tax information as part of the auditing process. Travel may be required for state business.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Conduct audit work to evaluate compliance with the federal requirements for the provision and processing of child support cases, and whether information reported to the federal granter are valid and reliable. Examine documents, report observed deficiencies in program management in accordance with Federal, State and agency laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the child support program.
• Conduct sample selection and testing. Examine and analyze sample data, court orders, child support payment records, correspondence, intergovernmental child support documents and the state child support system documentation to validate specific federal line items and actions taken for compliance.
• Compares data from the automated child support system to determine compliance in accordance with Federal, State and agency laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the child support program. Evaluates and makes recommendations and evaluate work procedures.
• Conduct peer reviews to evaluate colleagues work to ensure accuracy of audit reports issued for internal and external reporting. Compile data to develop audit findings and recommendations using spreadsheets to compose a variety of reports. Contributes to the planning of audits and reviews.
Knowledge of:
• Principles and practices of auditing and accounting.
• Federal and state laws, rules and regulations, as they pertain to program operations/activities.
• Computer products and software used in auditing and accounting systems and processes.
• Administrative processes for collecting child support payments.
• General legal terminology, practices and procedures applicable to child support enforcement.
Skill in:
• Applying auditing and accounting methods and techniques.
• Applying and interpreting Federal and State laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to program operations and activities.
• Analyzing case information; organizing work papers; documenting case findings completely and logically.
• Mathematical computation.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Two years of child support enforcement experience. Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field.
• Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
