Reporting to the Shop Manager or delegates, the Shop Technician position will be responsible for general shop tasks related to day to day shop business.  The successful candidate will be able to understand basic mechanical and hydraulic concepts and have opportunities for advancement, including apprenticeship.  Duties may include clean-up of our shop, yard maintenance, painting and general assistance where required. 

Responsibilities:

  • General shop duties as assigned or required

  • Painting of manufactured and repaired product

  • Gearbox assembly

  • Hose assembly

  • Assist Hydraulic Technicians as required on manufactured items or repairs

  • Communicate effectively with tradesmen on specific job requirements

  • Other task as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma

  • Mechanical aptitude, ability to grasp and learn mechanical concepts

  • Ability to learn and understand hydraulic systems and components

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Self motivated and detail oriented

  • Demonstrate sound judgement with an extremely high level of attention to detail

  • Ability to work safely, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety.

Experience will be given to candidate who possess the following qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a shop environment

  • Experience with forklift operation

  • Interest in apprenticeship training
