THE ROLE: 

Do you thrive in complex and innovative software development?

If so, we have an awesome opportunity for a Sr Systems FW Designer with a focus in embedded power management firmware development, system level control, ASIC debug and bring up. You will be responsible for the full complement of AMD's APU and CPU designs, developing features and driving continuous improvement in all areas.

THE PERSON: 

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is passionate about firmware development and can work independently in a fast-paced environment. You should have strong technical communication and interpersonal skills. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Hands-on firmware development for embedded u-controllers in C, feature enablement and test plans.  
  • Participate in debugging and solving system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms.
  • Prototype FW power management features for future chips by implementing them on existing products and studying their efficiency.
  • Develop test automation infrastructures and scripts
  • The successful candidate will assume end to end responsibility for activities related to power, performance, and system management in CPU/APU products.

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience with developing and debugging system software or firmware for embedded systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of C or C++ and Python/Perl.
  • Good understanding of digital processing and power electronics.
  • Good understanding of computer architectures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and pronounced attention to details.
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion.

PREFERRED ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or master's degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture
