The Role:
Seeking a candidate with subject matter expertise to join AMD's Component Quality & Reliability team, driving component quality from concept to end of life to ensure a differentiated experience, de-risk AMD product quality and build customer confidence. The suitable candidate will be accountable for key components used on AMD Products. This is a high visibility role for highly experienced candidates.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have technical negotiating skills and communication skills. Will be highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple workstreams to tight deadlines. A self-starter and positive attitude with a strong desire to succeed.
Responsibilities :
· Lead supplier interface for key component suppliers across all AMD Business Units.
· Issue Management: Lead and drive resolution of supplier quality/reliability excursions (primary interface with supplier on quality excursions to drive root cause/containment/corrective action/etc. as required).
· Component Spec Management: With cross-functional team input, develop and drive supplier compliance to AMD component spec requirements as applicable by commodity (i.e. De-rating, Electrical spec requirements, APQP, reliability, outgoing DPPM (defective parts per million) and quality, etc. by production release target dates.
· Production ramp readiness review lead: Lead mass production readiness review of key supplier manufacturing facilities, participating in on-site factory audits as required.
· Define Component KPIs: KPIs that supplier must deliver through development into MP readiness, and measure and improve outgoing supplier quality control through component end-of-life.
· DFM (Design for Manufacturability) compliance: Ensure alignment between design and operations (ASIC Package and Board Ops/Engineering) to confirm supplier manufacturing tolerances meet AMD DFM requirements.
· Supplier, AMD Sourcing Council, AMD Component and Board Design teams, AMD Silicon & Package Reliability teams, AMD Engineering leadership, Global Operations and Quality leadership, and AMD BU's.
Preferred Experience:
· Experience in Manufacturing and Quality Control with any of the following: mechanical enclosures, discrete semiconductors, multi-chip modules, memory, power modules, board products.
· Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving 8D root cause/corrective actions, reliability testing, 6 sigma, and failure analysis.
· Supplier facing experience with ability to network, build relationships and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization. Strong communication skills are essential.
· Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.
· Self-starter and positive attitude with a strong desire to succeed.
· Hands on experience with process capability analysis, measurement system analysis (GRR - Gage Repeatability and Responsibility, ARR), cross-cavity check and process qualifications.
· Strong project management skills, working in a global matrix organization.
· Experience working with international OEMs/ CM.
· Travel internationally to supplier sites – 25%.
Education:
· BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or similar
