THE ROLE:
This is a lead engineering position responsible for Product Engineering program technical planning for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will be capable of communicating problems, solutions, and project status up to the executive level. You will provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers and influence others as a technical leader. You have the capability assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives, while dealing with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all aspects of testing printed circuit board assemblies: defining the strategy, creating the test plan, developing automated test cases, implementing device programming, and interfacing with the factory.
- Also responsible for responding to yield, failure, and retest issues during the builds.
- Focus on improvement projects that can reduce costs, increase test coverage, accommodate more complex product designs, or shorten the schedule.
- Creates, defines, and develops system validation environment and test suites.
- Responsible for the development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures.
- Evaluate proposed improvement ideas to determine their feasibility.
- Propose new improvements based on analysis of the data.
- Interface directly with local team members, the factory, and offsite teams to obtain necessary data.
- Develop SW tools or spreadsheets as needed.
- Prepare and deliver clear presentations to management and other stakeholders.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience planning capital spending, turnover and test coverage in order to achieve product qualification goals.
- Drive day to day activities related to all aspect of NPI product like DFT, product debug, manufacturing excursion, quality strategies and etc.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or master's in computer engineering or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines.
