R & R for a Senior Level Thermal Lead:
- Lead Thermal simulation flow with a focus on Thermal recommendations based on different SoC Power profiles.
- Get the designs First Time Right for Thermal flow performance of platform.
- Ensure the delegated tasks are completed with the best of quality and on time by way of organized reviews and supervision of work.
- Drive cross functional meetings with Platform, Power & Performance teams & Program teams and call out dependencies, risks and schedule alignment.
- Pro-actively drive discussions with external vendors and eco-system for Tools and license related alignment.
- Providing appropriate Guidance for Thermal Design Guidance to customers for Layout and call out best practices.
- Perform correlation & verification by way of measurements, maintain test plans, thermal design checklists and risk callouts.
- Support customer requests for additional Thermal requests.
Individual requirements:
- 18+ years of experience in Thermal simulation, profiling and measurement techniques.
- Very Strong Thermal solutioning experience, preferably with liquid cooling systems
- Should have great vendor interaction and co-work on thermal solutions, choice of HS+FAN+TIM material choice.
- Proven understanding of chamber-based tests, wind tunnel validation, feasibility study and create practical design guidelines.
- Hands-on experience using Flotherm & ANSYS tools, creation of Heatsink models and fan policy.
- Hands-on experience using high speed lab equipment and PHY compliance test fixtures.
- Self-starter with analytical and organizational skills
- Experience with documentation and reporting skills
- Excellent communication, collaboration, team playing and influencing skills.
- Experienced in mentoring Junior engineers.
- Envision a complete design cycle, create and follow thorough processes for a robust execution.
- Preferred Mechanical experience as well for x86 based Mother board designs.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the Thermal activities and decisions for embedded BU
- Proactively drive discussions and brainstorm ideas with Platform & Validation Leads and Customer facing teams wherever required.
- Spearhead new techniques and thought process in simulations for better guidance.
- Evangelize industry best practices inside of the team and outside members as well.
- Support customer issues and ready to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
