THE ROLE: 

The Project Management Office (PMO) within AMD's Data Center GPU (DCGPU) group has an immediate opening for Materials Planning Manager1. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the DCGPU Program management teams and Business Unit (BU) finance.  You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong organizational skills, a demonstrated capacity for creative problem solving, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work with cross-functional teams to enable the development ground-breaking products. Your contributions will make a pronounced difference to future AMD GPUs for High Performance Computing (HPC), Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

THE PERSON: 

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of materials planning, impeccable track record of delivering complex programs, proficiency with planning tools, and experience with dealing with fast pace program cycles.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Purchase Order Management: Oversee the entire purchase order process from creation to closure, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • SAP/Ariba Proficiency: Utilize SAP/Ariba tools for effective management of purchase orders, including tracking and reporting functionalities.
  • CapEx Spend Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliation of capital expenditure spend to ensure accuracy and alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Release and Tracking: Monitor the release of purchase orders and track their status through completion, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present weekly reports on purchase order status, CapEx spending, unspent funds, new requests, and cancellations to senior management. Identify trends and provide actionable insights to optimize procurement strategies
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the finance team to understand budget allocations, manage new requests for purchases, and provide insights on unspent funds. Collaborate with lab teams to utilize vendor quotes for generating Purchase Requisitions (PR), ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Planning and Execution: Assist in strategic planning for future purchases based on historical data and current business needs while executing plans effectively.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 4+ years of procurement or supply chain management experience on projects with medium to high complexity
  • Ability to deal with rapid development cycles
  • Proficiency in SAP/Ariba tools mandatory; experience with productivity tools including Microsoft Teams, Excel. Power BI and OneNote is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and be a team player
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems, work with ambiguity and be self-motivated
  • Familiar with implementing and refining new processes
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Prior ASIC, Board or System pre-production materials planning experience

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related multi-disciplinary program or equivalent experience preferred
