LOCATION: Cologne
PROGRAM TERM: April 1st - Sept 30th 2025
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- You will become a member of the DevOps team, ensuring the smooth running of our software development and release processes with high-quality standards
- You will help us maintain and extend our development infrastructure and improve our development workflows
- You ensure the availability and work continuously on improvements of our infrastructure
- You work closely with our developers defining together with them new requirements always striving for better (automation) workflows and higher quality of the technologies in our organization
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- You are studying towards a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Exposure in the Linux environment on the command line including a version control system (ideally git)
- Ability to write your first own scripts in Python
- Familiar with topics of the DevOps area, and like to automate things
- You are fluent in English
- You have excellent problem-solving capabilities, work result-oriented, and have good communication skills
- You are a team player, who also loves to work independently and takes ownership of your work
- You are open to learning new things on your own and get feedback on CodeReviews from the team
- You are an EU citizen or possess a valid work permit for Germany. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART:
- Familiar with continuous integration systems (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar)
- Exposure to REST API
- You have experience with Container technologies such as Docker; big plus: you have experience in Kubernetes and monitoring k8s clusters
- You have knowledge of build systems, artefact management systems, configuration management or package managers
- You already have worked within open-source projects and like to contribute to the community
