The ISV and Advanced Architecture (IAA) group is seeking a Business Analyst for its Program Management Office (PMO) team. As part of the PMO Team, you will be a key contributor to the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities, as well as ensuring that financial, staffing, and corporate objectives and initiatives are successfully tracked and achieved.

 

You will interact with Software Engineering Management, Developer Relations, business units, program and resource management functions, including corporate reporting and budgeting teams. You will participate and represent the IAA team in communications with internal and external forums, and will be engaged in reporting on resource and budget statuses to executive leadership.

Responsibilities will continually evolve and the successful candidate for this role must have a desire to constantly learn and grow within the role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

As Business Analyst, you will drive the analysis, reporting, and maintenance of critical business systems in the organization.  Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Employee resource pool and timesheet database maintenance, support, troubleshooting, and reporting, including creation and maintenance of staff accounts.
  • Regular reporting of resource allocations across teams, data entry delinquency status.
  • Performing regular integrity checks between databases to ensure consistency across data sources, and rectifying any issues found.
  • Engaging with all levels of management to resolve discrepancies in data and/or user issues in management systems.
  • Completing/assisting with quarterly labor, capital, and resource/financial forecast/actuals reconciliation activities.
  • Creation of new project codes, resource allocation structures in MS Project Server.
  • Manage outside services forecast and actuals, assist with materials forecast and actuals.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Engineering, computer science, or business/finance degree is required.
  • Minimum 4 years business analysis experience in complex project & program management organization in dynamic industry areas.
  • Excellent analytical skills. High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Project Server, and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is an asset.
  • Advanced interpersonal and collaborative skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in building data models, creating and maintaining databases, data management, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Able to multitask effectively and ‘do what it takes' to deliver work with high quality and on time.
  • Project management background/interest. Scrum/PMP certification is an asset.
  • Flexible on assignment of responsibilities.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to grow within the role in terms of scope and responsibilities.
