About the Role:

We are in search of a driven and passionate individual to step into the position of Maintenance Supervisor, based at our Wagerup Refinery on a permanent basis. This is a front-line leadership position that forms part of the Clarification Maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent. This position is offered on a 5 days on 5 days off 10.3hr shift roster.

You will provide direction and support to enable your team to contribute and achieve the overall business plan. Furthermore, responsibilities of the Supervisor are:

  • The coordination of appropriate support resources as well as delegation of allocated work to set your team up for success,

  • Coaching, mentoring and identifying development of team members to raise overall effectiveness of the work group by reducing barriers, and improving their capability, accountability and applied effort,

  • Liaising with support services such as Engineers, Planners and other work groups including contractors, for priorities and scheduled progress,

  • Achievement of sustained business efficiencies through leadership of the Alcoa problem solving process,

  • Keeping our people safe and accountable in accordance with policies, procedures in all daily operations and interactions!

  • Engagement of the crews with systems and tools to enable work teams to be productive and highly successful in achieving positive outcomes

What you can bring to the role:

  • Relevant industry experience and a mechanical aptitude

  • Evident leadership with an ability to instil a deep commitment to safety and the environment in all aspects of daily work,

  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills to effectively convey daily priorities and action plans,

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with dynamic partners within and of our business, and

  • Efficient approach to work management practices, prioritising resources and people.

  • Experience in implementing and leading change initiatives is required

  • You should hold or be willing to complete Schedule 26 - Statutory Supervisor accreditation. Alcoa will provide support in obtaining accreditation.

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership position or have worked in a similar operation or industry to Alcoa.
