SMS Operations Supervisor- South Texas

Safety Management Systems has an immediate opening for a full-time Operations Supervisor to join the Medical Services Team.  This position will be based out of the South Texas region.

Requirements:

  • Must have Texas Paramedic license or National Registry
  • Must have ACLS and BLS certifications
  • 5 years Paramedic experience required
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Acadian Companies/SMS corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as customer's policies and procedures
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively, in written and verbal forms, with employees, and customers.  Must possess the ability to present information to both employees and leadership groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills required
  • Goal oriented

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:   

  • Builds a strong working relationship with the numerous customer management groups and maintains client relationships
  • Oversees daily operational issues to ensure excellence in customer service, including but not limited to conflict resolution with employees and clients
  • Oversees ambulance and clinic operations which will include direct patient care when needed.
  • Investigates, documents, and resolves inquiries from field employees
  • Frequently visits job sites to assess progress of project and performance of medical personnel.  
  • Maintains staffing needs of the customer
  • Assists in interviewing candidates as needed
  • Communicates staffing needs and recruiting updates with the SMS Recruiter and Recruiting Supervisor
  • Monitors field employee non-billable expenses, coordinates decisions with Division Manager and Finance
  • Verifies employee timesheets for accuracy and proper signatures
  • Assists SMS payroll & billing departments with non-conformances and discrepancies
  • Ensures on boarding processes are followed and completed for new hires and employees moving projects
  • Monitors all field Mentoring and Training processes for quality assurance
  • Assists customer with training schedules and competency tracking
  • Develops improvement plans for employees who are unable to progress as necessary based on project demands
  • Completes annual employee performance appraisals on assigned medical personnel
  • Ensures staff adherence to SMS and customer policies and procedures
  • Attends customer required meetings and training sessions
  • Attends and coordinates SMS management and staff meetings and functions when requested
  • Maintains crew schedules and inventory
  • Assists fellow SMS Supervisors with administrative tasks if available
  • Remains flexible and attentive to what the operation requires
