Description
The Information Systems department at Acadian Ambulance has a full-time opening for the IT Network Administrator position. The candidate is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting Acadian Companies networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, transport (fiber and copper) media, wireless, and LAN/WAN circuits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and support LANs, WANs, SD-WAN, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
- Investigate root cause of problems and escalate to engineering and vendor support as necessary.
- Evaluate and monitor network performance.
- Maintain integrity of the network, server deployments, and security.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with current technological best practices.
- Configure and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols
- Configure and troubleshoot AAA processes.
- Maintain appliances such as NAC, VPN gateways, NGFW, routers, switches, firewalls, and IP Telephony infrastructure.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Cradlepoints supporting various sites.
- Use automation tools and scripting to introduce efficiencies in our daily workload and status reporting.
- Effectively collaborate with all other IT teams to complete high-level IT initiatives.
- Manage problem and service tickets, ensuring timely resolution to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Follow established Enterprise change management procedures.
- Participate in Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, building, and testing
- Must have the ability to understand and relate to new products, technology, and strategy and be able to follow directions
- Must communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders for project status, outages, and other initiatives.
- Must be able to provide project management that includes planning, documentation, meetings, conference calls, and reporting.
- Conduct training sessions and provide mentorship to share knowledge with peers and other support teams.
- Interpret business requirements into technical and/or functional documentation and solutions.
- Must be available to work outside of regular business hours to fulfill production and project needs and provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
- Some travel may be required.
- As a provider of essential services, Acadian expects its employees to be available to work additional hours in alternate locations and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Current and valid state-issued driver's license determined by appropriate state requirements required
- 3-5 years network experience preferred
- Network+ and CCNA or adequate experience preferred
- CCNP preferred
- Preferred experience with various technologies and applications such as Solarwinds; Cradlepoint; Aruba Wireless; Cisco Switching, Routing, Wireless; Cisco Security Products (ISE, Umbrella, ASA/Firepower)
- Preferred experience with building infrastructure cabling design, fiber, cat6, etc
- Preferred experience with various routing protocols such as EIGRP; BGP; OSPF
- Strong understanding of DNS and DHCP
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Preferred experience with Cisco Unified Communications platforms such as CUCM; UCCX; Unity
- Preferred experience with various WAN and carrier technologies such as SD-WAN; MPLS; MetroE
- Local position with some remote/hybrid ability, occasional travel
- Must possess excellent customer relations skills.
- Possess organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be able to work independently and with a team.
- Must be self-motivated and disciplined.
Training Requirements:
- Obtain CCNA or equivalent which must be completed no sooner than 6 months after the previous milestone and reviewed by the supervisor, manager, and director.
- Obtain Cisco Certified DevNet, SolarWinds Certified Professional, or equivalent which must be completed no sooner than 6 months after the previous milestone and reviewed by the supervisor, manager, and director.
- Obtain CCNP or equivalent which must be completed no sooner than 6 months after the previous milestone and reviewed by the supervisor, manager, and director.
