Description
Job Summary: The Clinical Lab Technologist is responsible for performing specialized technical analyzes of blood specimens leading to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the laboratory at Westchester Medical Center. Responsibility also involves ensuring the receipt, recording, grouping and labeling of specimens and the communication of test results to the attending physician.
Responsibilities:
Performs various types of clinical analyzes in the core laboratory including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Special Hematology, manual testing and Coagulation on blood specimens, urine, body fluid and other specimen types.
Conducts tests such as (but not limited to) Chemistry panels, thyroid testing, therapeutic drugs and drugs of abuse, complete blood count (CBC) with differential, other hematology testing, Urinalysis with microscopic, PT/PTT testing, ROTEM analysis and other clinical tests.
Interprets test results, reviews and verifies result reports.
