Summary:
Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity within our Billings, MT office as an Industrial Hygiene / Environmental Technician. As an IH Technician, you will assist a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to collect real time field data at sites throughout the region. 1-2 years of experience preferred in asbestos, lead, indoor air quality (IAQ), and environmental related projects, and current certifications as an asbestos inspector, asbestos contractor/supervisor, lead inspector or lead risk assessor, NIOSH 582 or equivalent certification, and Hazwoper are desired but not required. Construction/building systems background experience preferred. A current driver's license is required. Clear driving record within company standards.

Your Role:
- This position requires field and office activities for asbestos inspections, lead-based paint inspections, IAQ assessments, abatement oversight, monitoring, and environmental projects primarily at project sites in Billings, Montana.
- The field requirements will include approximately 25% or more of travel/fieldwork. This position may require occasional night and weekend travel/work.
- Work activities will include conducting asbestos and lead-based paint inspections, overseeing asbestos abatement projects, collecting air samples, and preparing technical reports. The ideal candidate will also be trained in environmental compliance activities.
- Office duties will include job safety analysis, data evaluation, and reporting. Tasks associated with reporting may include the preparation of text, tables, charts, and figures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience.
- State of Montana Asbestos Inspector License preferred.
- Applicant must have excellent technical abilities, communication and organization skills, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to travel and perform field work (approx. 25% or more travel required).
- Familiarity with the MS Office Suite.
- OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $20.00 / hour to $22.60 / hour. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
