Job Description

Title:  Retirement Plan Design Specialist

Location: Hybrid

Get To Know The Team: The Plan Design Specialist provides comprehensive support throughout the pre-sale and post-sale phases to sales representatives, internal business partners, and institutional clients. This role involves evaluating the suitability of prospective plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA qualification requirements, and recommending alternative designs when appropriate. The specialist collaborates with clients to establish provisions for new documents and develops design illustrations and hypothetical calculations.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Offer pre-sale and post-sale support to sales representatives, internal business partners, and institutional clients.
  • Assess the suitability of prospective plans and ensure they meet all ERISA qualification requirements.
  • Recommend alternative plan designs as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients to determine provisions for new documents.
  • Develop design illustrations and hypothetical calculations.
  • Provide ongoing support, including drafting adoption agreements, amendments, and responding to plan document interpretation inquiries.

The Impact You Will Make:

  • Bachelors and 2 years of work-related experience, or Master's degree or 4 years equivalent work-related experience.
  • Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Department of Labor (DOL), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations.
  • Plan design and document language.
  • TRAC, AWD, Relius, or FT Williams systems experience
  • Strong communications skills. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively both verbally and in writing in order to prepare detailed plan reviews and discuss workflow with internal and external parties.
  • Analytical/Problem Solving Skills. Ability to analyze, evaluate issues and provide guidance regarding actual and potential problems. Must display keen attention to details.
  • Organizational, time management and project management skills. Ability to manage heavy and dynamic caseload and time pressures. Generally, conducts multiple plan evaluations simultaneously.
  • Able to work in the local office 6 days per month – REQUIRED
