Our growing Application Delivery Team currently has an opportunity for a Software Developer II within our IT department. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for building high quality software and thrive on owning their ideas from conception to delivery. In this role, you will actively contribute to the development of new and existing applications for our internal users in our grain handling, crop inputs, and food processing divisions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy new functionality in our Java-based web applications and back-end services
- Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and other developers as a member of an Agile Scrum team to understand and address business needs
- Write clean, testable, and highly maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and provide meaningful feedback to others
- Actively learn and contribute to improving our team's development practices and application architecture
- Provide support to teams by troubleshooting and resolving application issues
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in a computer science or related program
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of object-oriented design and development with languages such as Java or C#
- Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Experience in web application and REST API development
- Commitment to a continuous improvement mindset with strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with any of these would be considered an asset:
- Spring, Vue.js, PL/SQL, Python, Oracle and Postgres databases, CI/CD practices, Test-Driven Development, Agile and Scrum practices.
