Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, Implement and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines to ingest, process sand transform data from diverse sources in Azure
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and efficiency and leverage distributed computing frameworks and cloud-native technologies
- Design and implement data models and schemas to support analytical and reporting requirements
- Develop and deploy ETL processes to integrate from multiple sources
- Steward the transition from Excel files to a digitized database for the Actuarial business team
- Deploy and manage cloud-based data platforms and infrastructure on Azure
- Build and maintain monitoring of data pipelines to achieve operational excellence for the Profit and Loss Data pipelines to maintain data integrity and quality
- Optimize infrastructure costs and resource utilization through automation, monitoring, and scaling strategies
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory and business requirements
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting and root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues
- Implement access controls, encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data assets
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of related IT experience a Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer, Solution architect, or similar role
- 3+ years of experience with the following:
- Experience with PySpark, Python, Java, or Scala and creating Data Bricks pipelines
- Experience with Relational and Document Databases
- Azure Cloud Data architecture (Azure SQL DB, ADF Pipelines, Azure Databricks), infrastructure & patterns
- Experience working in a virtual team environment across multiplocations
- High proficiency of both written and verbal English communication
- Proven excellent time management, problem solving and communication skills
