Overview:
As an Advanced Health Information Management Technician responsibilities will include overseeing the organization, maintenance, and security of patient health information within healthcare organizations. The Advanced Health Information Management Technician will also demonstrate expertise in health information management systems, data analysis, and compliance regulations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of health records. Trains and mentor, all new HIM coworkers in all functional areas.
Qualifications:
- Experience: HIM/Medical Records - Minimum 2 years in HIM/medical records; Minimum 1 year experience with ROI, MPI, and/or Analysis. Medical Record Regulatory Requirements Working Knowledge Required.
- Preferred Experience: HIM Experience Minimum 4-6 years in an acute care medical records department; Minimum 2-3 years experience in ROI, MPI, or Analysis role in an acute care setting.
- Required Education: High School Diploma.
- Certifications: RHIT or RHIA preferred.
- Other:
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of coding guidelines is preferred. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of applicable federal/state laws and accreditation standards related to health information management is required.

- Highly motivated and organized problem solver.
- Analytical Skills Intermediate Required.
- Problem Solving Skills Intermediate Required.
- EHR Knowledge Intermediate Required.
- Scanning Documents Preferred.
- Coding/ Billing Knowledge Basic Preferred.
