Job Summary

Our Physician Network is seeking a Dietitian Intern for its diabetes education team. The Dietitian Intern will work with other members of the healthcare team to improve patient outcomes, health status, and quality of life. The Dietitian Intern will also support departmental needs by providing administrative and operational support as necessary.

 

The main missions of the role may include:

  • Assist in the development of individualized meal plans.

  • Help develop tools and processes for patient outcome monitoring and reporting.

  • Assist team with class set up, checking in patients, and answering questions.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support the patient's work towards their goals and health outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED;

Currently pursuing bachelor's degree and majoring in a field relevant to internship or field approved by hiring manager. 
Minimum Years of Experience: None
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): None
Required Certifications/Licensure: None
Required Training: Must be motivated, organized, and possess good communication skills. 

Essential Functions
  • Duties and Responsibilities will vary based on designated department. 
  • Performs operational and administrative functions within the department, which may include:         
    • Answering phone inquiries
    • Assisting with mail deliveries
    • Performing clerical duties such as taking memos, maintaining files, organizing documents, etc.
    • Assisting in the preparation of information for department needs.
    • Taking notes and memos during meetings. May create draft documents or reports
    • Helping with database management. May input information.
    • Assisting with planning and events. May attend company functions and networking events with team members.
    • Responding to Emails
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Role may be located in single location or may shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks. Travel may vary based on location of internship training.
  • Regularly observes information which is restricted to specific persons; discretion and integrity are recognized requirements of the experience.
  • Observes assigned activities in compliance with hospital and professional standards.
  • Abide by Lexington Medical Center mission and service standards. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
