Description
The Pediatric Critical Care Transport (PCCT) RN is an expert clinician in the nursing care of complex pediatric, adolescent, and neonatal patients requiring ICU and telemetry care during the air and ground transport process. The PCCT RN assumes clinical decision making responsibility, based on in depth assessment of the patient's needs and the patient care environment. The PCCT RN provides leadership in patient transport, by collaborating with the transport medical control physician and other healthcare professionals, and utilizing standardized procedures to provide best patient outcomes. As a clinical expert, the PCCT RN uses evidence-based knowledge to mentor and improve the skill level of colleagues and staff from referring institutions.
Salary Range: $63.83 -$96.67
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in pediatric and/or neonatal intensive care, required
BSN required
MSN Preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP required
Specialty pediatric/neonatal critical care nursing certification (CCRN, PCEN, C-NPT, CFRN, CTRN, CPEN, RNC-CIC) required within 6 months of hire
Must pass physical agility test for transport team members annually or as indicated, to insure safe performance of job functions.
Ability to work in restrictive environments (helicopter, fixed wing, ambulance)
