JOB DETAILS:

• Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia
• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), either in a hybrid or onsite or remote work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
• Duration: 6 Jan 2025 to 30 Jun 2025. (Start date may change slightly to accomodate for qualified candidates) 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking highly motivated Software/Computer Engineering intern/co-op to join our team. In this role –

• We will involve you in using APIs to query data from a large SMS database and transfer it into our SQL Server.
• Your responsibility will include but not limited to:
• • Ensure data quality by filtering, managing missing values, and preparing datasets for analysis.
  • Link the SQL Server database to Power BI, structuring it for effective reporting.
  • Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and visualizations.
  • Write DAX formulas to create meaningful insights and metrics.
  • Build a user-friendly interface in Power BI to facilitate data interpretation for stakeholders.
  • Work with the analytics team to troubleshoot and seek guidance on technical challenges.
  • Engage with the demand analyst team to align project requirements with data solutions.
  • Incorporate AI functionalities into Power BI, aligning with our long-term goals for advanced data analysis and insights.
  • You need to be able to analyze, identify, evaluate and propose technical solutions, integrating automation workflows is preferred under supervision by senior staff.
  • You have accountability of accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results.
  • You able to work independently and proactively to meet project milestones with adequate supervision.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 software suite such Power Automate, Power Apps, and Excel (Macros) for enhancing data automation and handling process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Power-BI for data visualization and reporting.
• Familiarity with Power Query & Power Pivot for data modeling and advanced data transformations.
• Competency in SQL and Python for data querying, cleaning, and analysis.
• Basic understanding of software development and aim to continue the internship project as Final Year Project.
• Minimum current CGPA of 3.0 and above.
• Basic understanding of project management principles, ensuring efficient execution and coordination of tasks.
• Possess good English communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration and reporting.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Pursuing a degree in IT, Software, AI, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
